TCD is a mental health charity that supports young people experiencing isolation or challenges with their wellbeing. Founded from lived experience, the organisation works to reduce stigma around mental health and ensure people feel able to seek support.
The funding will support TCD’s youth initiatives, including Luke’s Lads and Butterflies, which provide a practical, community-based solution for young people who may feel marginalised or disconnected. The targeted support is particularly aimed at young people aged 16–19 who identify as LGBTQ+ or are exploring their identity. These programmes create spaces where young people can build friendships, themselves and develop confidence through supportive activities and open conversations around mental health and identity.
Many young people tell us they feel lonely, under pressure, or unsure where to turn for support outside of formal services.
