This young person with autism spectrum disorder is non-verbal. She lives with her mother and siblings in overcrowded social housing.

Due to her additional needs, she is unable to access most mainstream extracurricular activities. Swimming is one of the few structured activities that provides both therapeutic benefit and suitability for her needs, supporting sensory regulation, physical development, and water safety skills. However, the family is unable to afford access to private lessons.

This grant supports specialist swimming lessons delivered by an instructor experienced in working with children with additional needs. The sessions provide a consistent, structured activity that supports both physical health and emotional regulation.
