Carers Voice Norfolk and Waveney

Developed in co-production with carers and clinical health teams, the Carers Identity Passport is designed to formally recognise individuals in their caring role and ensure they are appropriately included in care planning and service provision.
The Passport supports young carers in navigating health and social care settings by enabling practical adjustments such as flexible visiting arrangements, access to free parking, and improved communication with professionals. It also helps connect young carers to wider community and support services through integrated digital and physical formats, including a QR code linked to the regional Integrated Care System website.
Since its introduction, 6,000 passports have been issued across Norfolk and Waveney and are now recognised in a range of settings. A dedicated youth initiative has supported targeted distribution to young carers, particularly through education settings. This funding aims to provide an additional 500 passports for young carers.
Ever since I’ve had my Carers Identity Passport I’ve been so proud to wear it, it gives me a sense of belonging.
