Stirling Carers Centre
With our funding, Stirling Carers Centre will provide targeted support for 100 child carers through 1:1 tailored emotional support and confidence-building activities. For many, the Carer Support Officers are the only people they can open up to about their home lives. Through tools like journals and mood resources, and with meetings held wherever the young person feels safest (whether at school or online), the centre helps children process anxiety, grief, and even self-harm behaviours.
Beyond emotional support, the programme offers inclusive term-time groups and free holiday activities that bring joy, connection, and relief. Whether it’s chocolate making, quiz nights, ten-pin bowling, or scenic hikes, these experiences offer vital respite from heavy responsibilities. With rural isolation and financial hardship compounding the pressure, every activity is fully funded and child-led, ensuring accessibility and a sense of empowerment.
The groups and events provide much-needed respite from responsibilities and worries. Vitally, they have fun and laughter, which are often sadly missing from their lives.
