Rephael House

Rephael House is a well-established low-cost counselling service. The organisation provides long-term therapeutic support.
This project delivers weekly, trauma-informed one-to-one counselling and play therapy for vulnerable children and young people aged who have experienced physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect, or domestic abuse. Many present with significant emotional distress.
Support is delivered over a sustained period of up to one year, offering consistent weekly sessions that build trust and stability between the child and their therapist. This continuity is essential for children affected by abuse, as it enables them to gradually process traumatic experiences at their own pace in a safe and structured environment. Sessions are tailored to age and developmental need, with play therapy used for younger children.
The project is explicitly designed as both therapeutic care and early intervention, aiming to reduce the long-term impact of trauma and prevent escalation of mental health difficulties.
