A safe space

A 5-year-old pupil at a primary school in Scotland is currently staying in temporary accommodation after fleeing the family home with his mother due to domestic abuse. He has additional educational and medical needs and is struggling to process the major changes in his life, including being unable to see his father due to an ongoing police investigation.

This young boy is showing challenging behaviours at home, particularly towards his pregnant mother and younger sibling. We are funding access to play therapy to help him express his feelings in a safe and structured way, supporting both his emotional wellbeing and his relationships at home and at school.
